Mount Cook National Park
New Zealand’s wide-open spaces offer limitless opportunities for outdoor enthusiasts. Explore New Zealand's wide-open spaces on two feet, two wheels, in the air or underwater. Ancient rain forests, pristine lakes, snowy mountains, or golden beaches all offer tantalizing room to roam and incredible opportunities for adventure. Choose to tackle them with one giant leap or many, many small steps.
*The following is a suggested itinerary. All itineraries are fully customizable and can be personalized to suit individual interests.

Let yourself go in New Zealand’s natural playground.

DAY 1-2: Under the sea in Northland
New Zealand’s clear, clean waters make it a paradise for divers. Embark at Tutukaka to explore the magical sea caves, kelp forests and schools of brightly colored fish in the Poor Knights Islands Marine Reserve, or investigate sunken shipwrecks.
DAY 3-5: Explore national parks
In the heart of the North Island, explore the volcanic wonderland of Tongariro National Park. With steaming craters, surreal lakes and strange rock forms you can take in all of the spectacular sights on the Tongariro Alpine Crossing. Then head west to Taranaki, where for the more experienced hikers, Pouakai Circuit is perfect for exploring the backcountry. Alternatively, the New Plymouth Coastal Walkway is a family-friendly 13km walk.

DAY 6-8: Take a Great Walk on the wild West Coast
Head south and hike or mountain bike along the alpine ridges, limestone karst landscapes and thriving rainforests of the Paparoa Track and admire epic views. Stop at Punakaiki’s pancake rocks and blowholes, where water shoots skyward from rocks resembling stacks of hotcakes.
DAY 9-10: Roam by rail on a terrific train journey
In Greymouth board the TranzAlpine and let the wide-open spaces come to you. One of the world’s great train journeys, it traverses 223 kilometers (139 miles) of monumental South Island landscape, through rainforest, plains, and mountains towards Christchurch.

DAY 11-12: Adrenaline adventures in Queenstown
Get airborne in the Adventure Capital: Take the plunge at the original commercial bungy site, try the world’s first human catapult, freefall 60 meters from the world’s highest cliff jump, or skydive over epic mountains and lakes from 15,000ft.

DAY 13-14: Scenic sights and Sounds in Fiordland
Explore the glacier-carved valleys of Fiordland National Park by scenic flight for unbelievable views. Or get active, kayaking past Milford Sound’s towering cliffs and waterfalls looking for seals, dolphins, and, if the stars align, even whales!
What will you discover when you give yourself the space to roam?
